Wood, warmth and upcycling

Remember burnt beams from above the fire?

They have now been chopped into logs
which are warming us in the replaced fire.
Nothing wasted.

Remember the trees EDF cut down?

We spent a lot of time hand cutting them into logs and kindling.

Moving them round the site,
eventually started a wood pile

They too have been keeping us warm.
We feel quite wood rich at the moment!

The trees themselves seem to be no worse for their drastic trim,
sending up shoots all summer
and will need a light trim soon.

Here are a couple of pics of my car.

She really hates the cold and damp.
But is cheap to run
and you do not need to have passed your test to drive her.

Keep warm.
