Every year EDF come along and check that our trees are not too near their lines.
This year, with all the rain we had early on, the trees have had a real growth spurt.
We decided that they should be cut to waist height and reclaim some wood for winter.
Over 12 large trees were cut, unfortunately they were in full leaf and have taken some time to clear.

Meanwhile in the front garden, we had the large tree chopped a bit!

Lots of fallen branches.
But still plenty of tree left to sit under.
It has taken over a month to clear all the branches.
Each had to be cut by hand,
moved by hand,
now a small wood pile is growing.
Glad to be back!
